On 2nd of November the first Jurgis Baltrusaitis jr. architecture award has been presented to Ms. Shogher Khachatryan for her project “Rehabilitation of Historically Created Environment of Kond: Integration of Ethnographic Museum in the Historical Environment”.
The award ceremony took place in the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, the current study place of Ms. Khachatryan. The winner of the 1500 Euros award was selected from a group of young and promising architects, who are currently in their Master Degree architecture studies.
On October 11th, Embassy’s staff visited NGO “Martuni’s Women Community Council”. The Supplementary Agreement signed allowing implement new activities corresponding to the project goals and ensuring effective implementation of the project.
The second meeting of Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Armenia took place on 4-5th October in Yerevan.

On occasion of new academic year Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Armenia together with experts of the Lithuanian Road Administration under the Ministry of Transport and Communications for four years have been visiting various Armenian schools and share Lithuanian safe traffic practice.
Prof. Tomas Venclova is a prominent poet, intellectual, publicist, literature researcher, professor of Yale University, famous dissident of the Soviet times. His poetry is included into the gold fund of Lithuanian poetry of the 20th and the 21st century and abundant translations to various foreign languages confirms the international recognition of the poet.
Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the framework of the celebration of the Europe Day 2017 organizes screening of the film ‘’Garden of Eden” directed by famous Lithuanian screenwriter and director Algimantas Puipa with participation of actors well-known among different generations.
The Lithuanian Embassy staff visited Crisis Management State Academy to learn about protection types from various risks, civil protection plans, emergency communication and notification issues.
On 24 February LCC International University together with the Embassy organized the 1st International English Public Speaking Competition in Armenia. 42 pupils from schools from all over Armenia had participated in the competition. There were two winners of the first place: Mr. Baghdasar Grigoryan (YSMU High School “Heratsi”, Yerevan, teacher Sona Tadevosyan) and Mr. Nikolay Nasonov (Secondary School No3, Ararat, teacher Anjela Malkhasyan). The winners of national competitions from Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia, Albania, Latvia, Russia, and Moldova will meet at LCC International University in Lithuania for the final round of the International Public Speaking Competition on March 29, with their travel expenses covered by the University. The final winner will be awarded a free semester of studies at LCC International University.
Ambassador Erikas Petrikas together with the delegation from Lithuania based LCC International University in Klaipėda, headed by the President of the University Marlene Wall, had meeting with Ms. Karine Harutyunyan, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science. The cooperation in the area of education as well as practical possibilities to enhance students’ mobility between two countries were discussed.
