Armenian schoolchildren started their new school year with Lithuanian backpacks designed for road safety
On occasion of new academic year Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Armenia together with experts of the Lithuanian Road Administration under the Ministry of Transport and Communications for four years have been visiting various Armenian schools and share Lithuanian safe traffic practice.
On September 4-6th various road safety events held in seven cities and villages throughout Armenia. Schoolchildren from Panik, Arevik, Gyumri, Gorayk, Saravan, Jermuk and Kechut received 850 backpacks made in Lithuanian company from Panevėžys “Safe reflector”, along with reflectors and other road safety items. Experts from Lithuania explained to teachers and pupils the importance of use of reflectors and their wearing rules in the dark time of day.
This project attracts more and more attention each year, this year the project is being supported by: Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia, Lithuanian honorary Consul in Armenia, companies “ACC Distribution”, „Apaga Technologies", "Lydian Armenia". Representatives of the Police of Armenia, the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia, regional governors and mayors, Armenian First TV channel and regional journalists, representatives of NGO and Ambassador of Lithuania to Armenia participated in the events.
