Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry is among the world’s 10 best connected institutions on Twitter

According to Twiplomacy Study 2017, Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is among the world’s 10 most mutually connected world leaders and institutions on Twitter.
The @LithuaniaMFA account and the account of Iceland’s Foreign Ministry occupy the sixth and seventh rankings with 108 mutual connections with their peers and world leaders. The European External Action Service (EEAS) is the best connected service, mutually connected with 128 peers and world leaders. The top ten also includes the Foreign Ministries of Russia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Norway, Israel, the Netherlands, and France.
The annual Twiplomacy Study has been carried out by the leading global public relations and communications firm Burson-Marsteller. The study analyses how world leaders and governments use the main social media platforms, such as Twitter, to engage citizens, laying special emphasis on their mutual connections.
Currently, the @LithuaniaMFA account on Twitter has 61.6 thousand followers. The Foreign Minister Linkevičius has 68.9 thousand followers on Twitter.
