Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Armenia on the facilitation of the issuance of visas
Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Yerevan informs that as from 1 January 2014 the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Armenia on the facilitation of the issuance of visas will enter into force.

As exception to the provisions stipulated by Visa Code the Agreement introduces a scope of facilitations for Armenian nationals regarding Schengen Visas (type C). The facilitations do not apply to national visas (type D). In particular, it provides for:
· Reduction of the documents to be presented for visa application (article 4)
· Simplification of issuance procedure of multiple-entry visas (article 5)
· Decrease in Schengen visa fee for processing the application from 60 € to 35 € as well as expansion of category list of persons benefiting from a full waiver of the visa fee (article 6)
· Shortening the length of procedures for processing visa applications (article 7)
· Holders of diplomatic passports may enjoy visa-free travel to the territories of the Member States (article 10)
