Day of Restoration of the State of Lithuania commemorated in Yerevan

On February 15, the Day of Restoration of the State of Lithuania was commemorated in Yerevan in the event organized by the Embassy of Lithuania.

During the event, the guests from Armenia‘s government and parliament, diplomatic missions, civil society, Lithuanian community, and other friends and partners of the Embassy had an opportunity to enjoy a performance of Lithuanian folk instrument skrabalai (wooden bells) by Karolis Šileika-Skrabalman, as well as to try some Lithuanian food specialties.

"Having achieved freedom and democracy ourselves, we strongly believe that it’s high time to extend a supporting hand to those seeking to live by these values. Small countries can make an impact – because it does not depend on the size but rather on the values you believe in. As our Prime Minister once put it, "Freedom is in our DNA", and Lithuania knows the price of freedom and democracy too well. So does Armenia", - said chargé d'affaires of the Embassy Vismantė Dailidėnaitė during her speech.

Opening remarks were also delivered by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan.
