Important information regarding COVID-19
In view of the epidemiological situation of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Government decided to suspend, as of 13th of March, all activities at all educational, cultural, sports and leisure establishments in the country at least for two weeks. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Lithuania currently advises Lithuanian residents against travelling to all foreign countries for at least a month.
3 cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Lithuania, as of the morning of 12th of March.
2 new cases confirmed on the 10th of March to a couple who returned from a skiing holiday in Italy (Veneto region) on 7th of March. The first case of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed on 28th of February. Test results have confirmed infection to a female patient who returned from Verona (Italy) on 24th of February 2020.
On 26th of February, the Government of Lithuania declared a national level emergency to help the institutions better prepare for potential spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The declaration of a state of emergency is a preventive measure.

All passengers arriving to Lithuanian airports will be subject to registration and health check. All passengers arriving by land and sea by public transport will be subject to health check. Passengers arriving from China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Spain, which are currently considered high-risk countries, must self-isolate for 14 days as well as to submit personal information to the National Public Health Center (NVSC) by phone +370 5 2124098, by e-mail info@nvsc.lt, or by filling in the QUESTIONNAIRE. Travellers with possible coronavirus symptoms are urged to immediately call 112.
Flights from Lithuania to Italy must be suspended as of 13th of March, and flights from Italy to Lithuania - as of 16th of March.
All public institutions advised to switch to teleworking as much as possible.

As of 13th of March, Lithuanian Government also recommends to suspend travelling to China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Spain, which are currently considered high-risk countries. All types of bus services to and from Italy must be suspended.

To prevent chances of getting infected with the coronavirus, it is recommended following standard measures to reduce the spread of the disease: frequently washing hands with warm water and soap, not touching the face and eyes, observing the coughing and sneezing etiquette (covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the bent of an elbow), observing safe cooking (especially when using uncooked meat or eggs) and avoiding close contact with anyone who has symptoms of respiratory disease such as cough or sneezing.
If within 14 days of your last visit to the COVID-19 affected areas (China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Spain) or following a close contact with a person with a confirmed COVID-19 disease you have experienced flu-like symptoms, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath or other respiratory problems, muscle pain or fatigue, please immediately call Emergency Help Centre line 112 and follow medical advice.
