Lithuania Continues Safe Traffic Project in Armenia
Already the second year Embassy of Lithuanian in Armenia together with Lithuanian experts share Lithuanian safe traffic practice with Armenian schoolchidren. On September 1, Ambassador of Lithuania Erikas Petrikas together with the experts of the Road Administration under Lithuanian Ministry of Transport and Telecommunication told about traffic rules as well as correct use of reflective safety belts. The Embassy has presented schoolbags with reflective belts to the schoolchildren.
The event took place in school No8 of Artik town. The safe traffic pilot program reached the school which was destroyed during Spitak earthquake and was later reconstructed by the Lithuanian side in 1988. Lithuania has supported the reconstruction of this school. Therefore on the same 1 September a computer class was opened in the school. It will be useful not only for schoolchildren but for all the Artik residents. The computers are the present for the school from the Lithuanian capital firm “ACC Distrubution”.
The high officials form Shirak province Governor, Shirak province Chief of Police, Mayor of Artik, representatives of Armenian Apostolic Church, journalists, representatives of the NGO and friends of Lithuania in Shirak province who supported the projects were present at the event.
