Lithuanian Ambassador met with the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs

On December 14, Lithuanian Ambassador Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė met with the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ara Ayvazyan. The Ambassador wished the Minister every success in his new capacity and emphasized Lithuania's readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and contribute to the implementation of Armenia's reform agenda.

The situation in the South Caucasus following the recent Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the need for humanitarian assistance to war affected civilians, as well as cooperation between Armenia and the European Union were discussed during the meeting. It was noted that Lithuania allocated EUR 75,000 for humanitarian aid to the International Red Cross Committee.
 
The newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs A. Ayvazyan has established and served as Armenia's Ambassador to Lithuania in 2011-2016.
