Lithuanian-Armenian business forum held in Vilnius

In the framework of the official visit of the President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan to Lithuania, a Lithuanian-Armenian business forum was held on 19 April.

President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan and President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda participated in the official opening ceremony of the business forum and delivered opening speeches. The Presidents underlined that there are many wide opportunities for two sovereign countries – Lithuania and Armenia – to intensify contacts in the economics area.

After delivering welcoming remarks, the Minister of Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė and the Minister of High Technology Industry of Armenia Robert Khachatryan signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the fields of technologies and innovation. Priority areas for cooperation include information and communication technologies, digital data, life sciences, bioeconomy and new materials.  

President of the Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists Vidmantas Janulevičius and Vice-President of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia Armen Martirosyan delivered remarks and signed a meeting protocol regarding further cooperation between the two organizations in developing bilateral business relations.

The official part was followed by economic presentations by Enterprise Armenia and Invest Lithuania representatives. The business delegation of Armenia also had individual meetings with Lithuanian business representatives, new contacts were established between businesspersons of both countries working in the fields of product production and trade, information technology, pharmaceuticals, aircraft repair, energy, construction, tourism, regional development etc.
