Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Economy and Innovation Jovita Neliupšienė paid a working visit to Armenia
On 24-25 June, Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Economy and Innovation Jovita Neliupšienė paid a working visit to Armenia.
During the visit, J. Neliupšienė met with the Minister of Health of Armenia and Chair of the Armenian Delegation to the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) for Economic Cooperation between Lithuania and Armenia Anahit Avanesyan, and Deputies Ministers of Economy, Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, High-Tech Industry, Labor and Social Affairs, Health, as well as Education, Science, Culture, Sports, and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, preparations for the third IGC meeting in Vilnius in autumn were discussed.
The Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Economy and Innovation also met with the Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Armen Arzumanyan and the Deputy Chairwoman of the Armenian Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Economy Anna Arakelyan. During the meetings, economic forecasts and needs in the context of the regional security situation, bilateral economic relations, cooperation in the field of tourism and ways to ensure the sustainability of direct flights were discussed.
The situation in the region, scenarios for further development and the prospects for Armenia's cooperation with the EU were discussed at a meeting with the new Chairman of the parliamentary friendship group with Lithuania Arsen Torosyan.
In Yerevan, J. Neliupšienė also visited TUMO Creative Technologies Center, where she met with the Center's director Marie Lou Papazian, who presented the Centre's activities and projects. During her visit to TUMO, J. Neliupšienė visited the Centre's premises, talked to young students who presented the knowledge acquired at the Center, aiming to discover their talents in the modern digital world, as well as implemented projects created using the most advanced technologies.
