Lithuanian medical and experts mission in Armenia completed
On July 4, Lithuanian medical and experts mission in Armenia to help fight COVID-19, has come to its end.
“This has been a very intensive month. Two weeks of planning, two weeks of the mission deployed in Armenia. I hope that our doctors have managed to bring a certain relief to two hospitals of Yerevan.
Both medical and experts teams have tried to do their best in passing best practices of containing and countering COVID-19. At least till now Lithuania can be considered a success story in this regard.
This has also been a very useful experience for our professionals, to work in the system which is experiencing a much higher pressure than what we have seen in Lithuania. The start of much longer and wider cooperation.
I am proud that several ministries and agencies, as well as the biggest three hospitals in Lithuania teamed up to help Armenia, its health professionals and people. This project has also been supported by Sweden and the European Union.
Solidarity with the Eastern Partnership countries has never been an empty word for us. This project is a clear proof that Armenia is not left alone in its fight against COVID-19”,- said Ambassador of Lithuania in Armenia Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė.
