Lithuanian solar energy modules installed in Meghri community school

On June 14, Lithuanian Ambassador Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė participated at the closing ceremony of the installation of Lithuanian solar modules and experience sharing project at Areviq Art School of Meghri community in the Armenian southern region of Syunik.
”We are very glad that in the framework of this project not only Lithuanian solar energy modules were provided to Areviq Art School but Lithuanian experts also shared experience in the sector of renewable energy sources. Projects of this kind are crucial in fighting against climate change, strengthening energy independence, as well as, supporting development of rural areas. Lithuania implements several such projects throughout Armenia, however, the first one is finalized in Meghri – the very southern point of the country. We hope to continue the cooperation with Syunik region,” – said Lithuanian Ambassador.
The ceremony was also attended by Edgar A. Martirosyan, the Secretary General of Syunik Regional Administration, A. Samvelyan, the Deputy Mayor of Meghri community, Lithuanian implementers and Armenian project partners, representatives of Areviq Art School and schoolchildren.
Within the project 62 solar modules were installed on the roof of the school, providing total capacity of 20 kW. The funding for the project was provided by the Environmental Projects Management Agency under the Ministry of Environment of Lithuania, from Climate change programme.
