Official Visit of the Lithuanian Seimas Delegation to the Republic of Armenia
On 30 March, during a working visit to Armenia, the delegation from the Lithuanian Parliament (Seimas), led by the Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Remigijus Motuzas, held meetings with high‑level representatives of the National Assembly.
On 30 March, during a working visit to Armenia, the delegation from the Lithuanian Parliament (Seimas), led by the Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Remigijus Motuzas, held meetings with high‑level representatives of the National Assembly, including Vice‑President Ruben Rubinyan, the Chairs of the Standing Committees on Foreign Relations, European Integration, and Defense and Security—Sargis Khandanyan, Arman Yeghoyan, and Andranik Kocharyan—as well as the Head of the Armenia–Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia Friendship Group, Arusyak Julhakyan.
The visit of the Lithuanian delegation coincided with the 35th anniversary of Lithuania’s recognition of the independence of the Republic of Armenia and the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Noting that Armenia is an important country for Lithuania, the Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Seimas, Remigijus Motuzas, underlined the importance of the deepening of cooperation between the two countries.
Issues related to the expanding Armenia–European Union cooperation were discussed. Remigijus Motuzas welcomed Armenia’s European aspirations and expressed the readiness of the Lithuanian side to provide assistance in promoting them. The discussions also covered EU‑supported programmes in Armenia, ongoing democratic reforms, the upcoming parliamentary elections, as well as regional security and the normalization process between Armenia and Türkiye.
On the same day, the delegation of Lithuanian parliamentarians visited the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex, where they laid flowers at the Genocide Monument and honored the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide with a minute of silence.
