President of Armenia paid an official visit to Lithuania

On April 18-20, the President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan paid an official visit to Lithuania.

In Lithuania, the President of Armenia had meetings with the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, Speaker of the Seimas of Lithuania Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, and Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė. During these meetings, the topics of bilateral relations, Armenia-EU cooperation, Armenia‘s democratic reforms agenda, regional security situation were discussed.

“Lithuania firmly supports the efforts of the European Union and our transatlantic allies to strengthen Armenia’s sovereignty and resilience to external and internal threats. As EU member state, Lithuania stands ready to contribute to a lasting peace, which is vital for building a prosperous democratic future for your country,” the President of Lithuania G. Nausėda said.

The President of Armenia also laid a wreath at the Memorial to those killed in the struggle for Lithuania's Independence in Antakalnis Cemetery.

Within the framework of the official visit, President Vahagn Khachaturyan and President Gitanas Nausėda participated in the official opening ceremony of the Armenian-Lithuanian business forum, during which the Presidents delivered opening speeches.

In Vilnius, the President V. Khachaturyan also delivered a lecture for the students of Vilnius University, and visited Vilnius University Life Sciences Center. 

President Vahagn Khachaturyan also had a meeting with the representatives of the Armenian community in Lithuania.
