Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė during the European Political Community meeting in Yerevan
Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė took part in the European Political Community meeting in Yerevan, where she stressed the importance of maintaining focus on supporting Ukraine in the face of Russia’s aggression and of strengthening cooperation among European countries to enhance security and resilience.
The Prime Minister stressed that Europe’s prosperity and democratic way of life will not be secure as long as Russia’s war against Ukraine continues, making it essential to focus all efforts on achieving a just and sustainable peace.
Discussions also highlighted hybrid threats, the strengthening of collective resilience, and energy security. The importance of democratic resilience and countering hybrid threats was addressed in separate formats.
The Prime Minister underscored the significance of the transatlantic partnership with the United States for Europe’s security. During the visit, Prime Minister Ruginienė also participated in a meeting of the Armenia Support Group, co-chaired by Lithuania together with France, emphasizing Lithuania’s readiness to share its experience in strengthening democratic processes in the run-up to elections.
In addition, the Prime Minister took part in the second informal meeting of the European Coalition Against Drugs (ECAD), which focused on combating drug trafficking, money laundering, and strengthening international coordination of efforts.
