The 225th anniversary of the Constitution of May 3 commemorated in Armenia

On the 3rd May 2016 the Lithuanian and Polish communities residing in Armenia had gathered at the famous Geghard Monastery (Armenia) to commemorate the 225th Anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of May 3.

The Constitution of the 3rd May 1791 as the first in Europe and the second written constitution in the world, after America's, serves as a unique example of the respect to the freedoms and rights of citizens, maturity of the state and civil structures.

The guests were greeted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Armenia Erikas Petrikas and the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Armenia Jerzy Marek Nowakowski. The Lithuanian and Polish anthems as well as other music pieces were performed by the Armenian Church Choir followed by the Polish Community Choir “Gwiazdeczka”.

During the event ambassador Erikas Petrikas had presented the letters of honor to Mr Saulius Kropis, Mr Faraon Mirzoyan and Mr Gagik Parasamyan for their outstanding input in the strengthening of the Lithuanian, Polish and Armenian artists‘ network and cooperation.

At the commemoration of the 225th anniversary of the Constitution of May 3 the representatives of the Armenian cultural and art society, members of the diplomatic corps, Lithuanian and Polish communities residing in Yerevan as well as the participants of the International Lithuanian, Polish, Armenian art symposium took part.
