The exhibition of photographer Antanas Sutkus
On 10 March Lithuanian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Erikas Petrikas opened the photo exhibition "Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir in the Dunes of Curonian Spit" by a Lithuanian documentary photographer Antanas Sutkus. The exhibition takes place till April 15 in the well known photo gallery „Mirzoayna Library“ in Yerevan. This is already a fourth appearance of the Lithuanian Embassy in Francofonia days here in Armenia.
The photos were taken during a visit of French philosopher, novelist Jean-Paul Sartre and French writer, intellectual, social theorist Simone de Beauvoir in Lithuania, in the Curonian Spit, in summer of 1965. (The Curonian Spit is a 98 km long, thin, curved sand-dune spit that separates the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea coast. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2000.)
The Ambassador congratulated all compatriots with the 27th anniversary of our Independance Day, the 11th of March 1990.
