The First Lady of Lithuania joined the President on an official visit to Armenia

On 20 May, the First Lady of Lithuania Diana Nausėdienė held meetings with the spouse of Armenia‘s President Anahit Minasyan and the spouse of Armenia‘s Prime Minister Anna Hakobyan.

After discussing the issues related to the improvement of education systems and the challenges of environmental protection, D. Nausėdienė together with A. Minasyan visited a secondary school in the Nor Kharberd community in Yerevan, where a modern solar power plant was constructed this spring under the programme of fighting climate change, financed by the Ministry of Environment of Lithuania. Diana Nausėdienė stressed that Lithuania was pleased to share its experience with Armenia in the field of solar energy, as well as to equip the country’s schools with solar power panels.

D. Nausėdienė, together with the spouse of the Armenian Prime Minister Anna Hakobyan, also visited Professor Ruben Yeolyan Haematology Center in Yerevan.

“Lithuania is proud of its highly talented professionals who are ready to share their knowledge. Cancer has no borders, it does not recognize age, nationality, wealth, or social status. It is a threat that we share and that we must fight against together – by supporting those who have been stricken by the disease and by working together to find better treatments,” Mrs. Nausėdienė said.

During her visit to the haematology center, Mrs. Nausėdienė handed over a donation of 20 top-of-the-range stethoscopes for newborns, children and adults, which she had brought from Lithuania. She also handed over tablets to children receiving treatment at the hospital and plush toys for the youngest patients.
