The President of Lithuania paid an official visit to Armenia

On 20 May, during an official visit to Armenia, President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda met with Armenia's President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan, Catholicos Karekin II.

The meetings focused on the security situation in the Caucasus region, democratic reforms in Armenia, EU-Armenia cooperation, as well as bilateral relations between Lithuania and Armenia.

“Especially now, when Ukraine is fighting not only for its sovereignty but also for European values and democracy, keeping the EU’s Eastern Partnership policy active is essential. Closer cooperation between the EU and Armenia and the implementation of democratic reforms will contribute to the country’s resilience, security, social and economic prosperity,” the President G. Nausėda said during the meeting with Armenia's President V. Khachaturyan.
