Yerevan Mayor had a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to the RA Erikas Petrikas. "There are wide perspectives for deepening partnership between Yerevan and Vilnius and implementation of joint projects in various spheres of urban economy. In this regard Yerevan is always open and willing to cooperate. And the favourable investment field formed in Yerevan gives good possibilities for development of mutually beneficial cooperation", said Taron Margaryan. Expressing gratitude for was reception and willingness to cooperate Erikas Petrikas taking the opportunity first of all congratulated Taron Margaryan on the 2795th anniversary of Yerevan and then noted that they are interested in the expansion of the frames of cooperation with Yerevan. "The visible and significant changes which are going on in Yerevan are to be appreciated. So, we should take steps to strengthen and deepen our partnership with Yerevan", said the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to the RA and suggested discussing the possibility of having a square after Lithuania in Yerevan. Taron Margaryan once again re-stated the approaches of the Municipality pointing out that the participation of the Secretary of the City Council of Vilnius in the International Conference of the capitals of the Member States of the Council of Europe held in Yerevan on October was another example of the desire to deepen and strengthen the relationships existing between the two capitals. An in respond to the idea of having a square after Lithuania in Yerevan the Mayor offered to form a working group and discuss the issue. The parties also discussed the issues related to the agreement on declaration Vilnius a sister-city.
